332. Apr 8, 2024. #10. The truly great Burberry is vintage, pre-1999 with Burberry s' label. For cotton coats they had 100%; 51% cotton 49% poly; 33% cotton 67% poly. I doubt the polyester versions are perceptibly warmer and less breathable than the all-cotton ones, and cotton-poly will hold up better to wear and stains. Simply put: Burberry Prorsum by Christopher Bailey is a high-fashion range, unlike the Burberry Brit or Burberry London line, that's why it's more expensive. High fashion houses like Burberry Prorsum, are never really "worth" their prices: They are of better quality, craftsmanship, and fit than high-street, but the customer is paying for the . Burberry had a serious public image and perception problem with being associated with chav culture. So they went designer and thus expensive. And raincoats alone wasn't enough to keep them going.
Its really not about quality, cut, finish, materials, its about that little label they add when they are all done. That is what raises the price 300% Maybe for some items but I have never seen someone custom make a replica Burberry prorsum runway outfit. Someone could do it I suppose. That could be an expensive experiment. Burberry Brit and Sport -- Complete crap; Burberry London -- Not top of the line quality, but passable, you're paying for the designer and the cuts. Won't have big logos, so you're good on that front; Burberry Prorsum -- Some great pieces (knitwear, jackets, and trousers) with some oddities thrown in to ruin things

Hi all, I'm in the market for a navy, fitted, above-the-knees trenchcoat from either Burberry or Aquascutum. I've tried on both and feel that the design/fit are interchangeable. The Burberry one is about 50% more expensive but is 100% cotton, while there is no 100% cotton option for Aquascutum – they seem to offer 35% cotton / 65% polyester only.
